Christopher Bake

Christopher Bake

Christopher Bake serves as the Board’s Chair Emeritus. He is a member of the Executive Committee and the Head of Origination at Vitol. He is also Chairman of VTTI, a global provider of storage services for crude oil, refined petroleum products and LPG, as well as Chairman of Vivo Energy, the Shell licensee in 16 countries in Africa.

From 2006 to 2012, Bake established and ran the Vitol office in Dubai. During this time, he created a partnership with the Oman Oil Company which formed Oman Trading International (OTI). He also oversaw the acquisition of Fujairah Refinery Company Limited – one of Vitol’s key assets in the region.

Since joining Vitol in 1995, Bake has held several global leadership positions and served in the Bahrain, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Houston and London offices. Before Vitol, Bake worked for BP and Phibro in the United States. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1987 with a BBA in International Business and Marketing.
