Cate Malek

Cate Malek

Currently a master's student at the University of Texas in Austin, Cate spent five years in the Middle East collecting and co-editing a book of narratives titled Palestine Speaks, about human rights violations in the occupied territories for McSweeney's publishing. She previously worked as a newspaper reporter, winning multiple Colorado Press Association awards. She was an Overseas Press Club fellow reporting from Israel and was placed with GroundTruth during her fellowship.
